By the Hexagon Cup team
1.8.2023

Madrid, August 1st, 2023 - The world of padel, a sport that is experiencing unparalleled growth, is today welcoming an exciting newcomer to its stage. Introducing the Hexagon Cup, padel’s first World Cup for private teams. Under the slogan "For the Fans. For the Players. For the Game", this new competition will bring stars of padel to Madrid from January 31st to February 4th, 2024.

The Hexagon Cup arrives with the ambition of offering a disruptive approach, as well as the firm purpose of transforming the sport of the ten by twenty. To this end, it has designed a completely new format which will see the leading male, female and next-gen talent being given an equal stage for success in a world class sporting and hospitality showcase.

The official presentation of this milestone within the sports calendar will take place in Madrid next month in September, during an event in which full details of the competition will be announced, such as the first teams and players that will be part of the Hexagon Cup.

“Padel is fast becoming a global sporting phenomenon, with The Hexagon Cup aiming to celebrate the sport and help take it to new heights. Everyone is invited, from padel fans, to players, and anyone who loves to celebrate and enjoy a big show experience”, claims Carlos Almazan, legendary Spanish padel player and General Manager at the Hexagon Cup.

Over the last few years, padel has experienced unparalleled growth that has led it to become one of the fastest growing, most exciting new sports propositions globally, with Argentina, Spain, Mexico, France, Sweden and the middle East all leading the way.
In Spain, the number of federated players has doubled since 2013, and last year almost 2,000 new padel clubs were started. 8,200 new padel courts were also built in 2022 with expansion expectations aiming to reach a total of 85,000 courts by 2026, which is more than double the current figure. Studies such as the Global Padel Report 2023 also predict the padel sector will grow to a volume of 6,000 million euros in 2026.

More details about the Hexagon Cup will be revealed over the coming weeks, in lead up to its official launch event in September. Follow the latest news through its social networks (@hexagoncup).
